CNPDPCJ and CIG promote joint training on integrated intervention with victims of domestic violence, children and young people
On 20 October, the National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights and Protection of Children and Youth (CNPDPCJ) and the Commission for Citizenship and Gender Equality (CIG) held a joint training event dedicated to integrated intervention with children and young people who are victims of domestic violence.
The initiative took place in the Parish Council of Pinhal Novo, and brought together 30 professionals from the Commissions for the Protection of Children and Youth (CPCJ) and the National Network for the Support of Victims of Domestic Violence (RNAVVD) of the districts of Lisbon, Santarém and Setúbal.
This action is the result of more than two years of preparation and joint work between the two entities, within the framework of a national strategy that aims to strengthen the inter-institutional articulation and technical training of professionals who intervene with victims children and young people in the context of domestic violence.
The collaboration between the CNPDPCJ and the CIG included several meetings to prepare and discuss concepts and intervention protocols, conducting two pilot actions in online format during 2024, which served as a basis for consolidating and improving this face-to-face training.
The session at Pinhal Novo thus marked a very important moment of deepening cooperation between these two national bodies and working together to improve the quality of intervention in this matter in the territory.
This joint work is essential to ensure that every child and young victim of domestic violence finds professionals prepared, able to act in an integrated way and focused on their safety and well-being, eliminating any type of revictimization.
