Bootcamp of the National Council of Children and Youth
CNCJ participates in Bootcamp
For four days, between June 30 and July 3, 16 councillors and counselors from the National Council of Children and Youth (CNCJ) participated in a Bootcamp, organized by the National Commission for the Rights of Children and Youth, in partnership with Geoparque Oeste. This residential meeting combined work, learning, participation and socializing and was a unique opportunity to strengthen ties, develop skills and strengthen the role of children and young people as active participants in decisions on matters that concern them.
The programme integrated moments of work on the Single Strategy for the Rights of Children and Youth (EUDCJ), capacity-building actions on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), group dynamics, cultural and sporting activities and many moments of sharing and coexistence, fundamental to strengthening the team spirit and the sense of belonging to the CNCJ.
Between reflection sessions, cultural visits, outdoor experiences and group activities, counsellors and counsellors had the opportunity to learn, collaborate and give voice to their perspectives on topics that impact their lives and on the future of children and young people in Portugal.
The opening session was attended by the President of the National Commission for the Rights of Children and Youth, Ana Isabel Valente, who underlined the importance of the participation of children and young people in the construction of public policies that are more inclusive and closer to their realities.
At the closing ceremony was present the Executive Director of the National Commission, João Rodrigues, who delivered the diplomas of participation, highlighting the commitment, dedication and contribution of all these young people in the work developed by this Council.
