High-Level Conference in Rome launches new Council of Europe Strategy on the Rights of the Child
Rosario Farmhouse, president of the CNPDPCJ, and two children from the National Council of Children and Youth were present.
The new Council of Europe (CoE) Strategy on the Rights of the Child 2022-2027 was launched at the High-Level Conference in Rome on 7-8 April. This important event was attended by a delegation of children and young people from the 10 European countries who were consulted for the preparation of this document, and Portugal was represented by two children from the National Council of Children and Youth, promoted by the CNPDPCJ. The delegation actively participated in several panels of the Conference and in sessions and interviews with senior dignitaries and rulers, such as Iceland's Minister of Education and Children Asmundur Daoason, the President of the European Court of Human Rights, Robert Spanó and Philip jaffé, member of the UN Committee on the Rights of the Child. They were also in conversation with the Chair of the Committee on the Rights of the Child of CoE Andriani Kostomopolus and the vice chair and president of CNPDPCJ, Rosario Farmhouse.
At the end of the work, this delegation issued 10 recommendations, to be addressed in the CoE action.
