Winners of the 8th edition of the Journalism Prize “The Rights of the Child in News”
The presentation ceremony of the 8th edition of the Journalism Prize "The Rights of Children in News" took place today at Teatro da Trindade, in Lisbon.
Today was the delivery of the Journalism Prize "The Rights of the Child in News", which is already in its 8th Edition.
Joana Pereira Bastos, from Revista E of Expresso newspaper, ex aequo with Sílvia Caneco, from Visão magazine, Nuno Amaral, Antena 1 and Miriam Alves, from SIC are the winners of the eighth edition of the journalism prize “The Rights of the Child in News”, in the category of National/Online Press, Radio and Television, respectively.
In addition to these first awards, 7 Honorable Mentions were awarded for works by Notícias Magazine (two), Expresso newspaper, Barlavento newspaper, RDP África, Canal 11 and SIC.
The Journalism Prize “The Rights of the Child in News” is a pecuniary prize, promoted annually by the Forum on the Rights of Children and Youth, of which the CNPDPCJ is a partner, sponsored by the Portuguese Society of Authors.
This annual distinction aims to value journalistic works of reference, always bearing in mind the rights established by the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child (1989) ratified by Portugal.
This contest had its 1st Edition in 2012 and came after the Commemorative Platform of the 50th anniversary of the Declaration on the Rights of the Child and the 20th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child.
The awards ceremony took place today, Children's Day, in Lisbon, at the Noble Hall of Teatro da Trindade and was attended by Pedro Campos, SPA, Rosário Farmhouse, CNPDPCJ, Maria João Malho, IAC, Lídia Maropo, member of the jury of the award, Lucinda Alves, Inatel Foundation, and the children of the 4th year of Jardim Escola João de Deus da Estrela.
