Family care is a temporary promotion and protection measure decided by courts or committees for the protection of children and young people, which consists in attributing the trust of the child or young person to a natural person or a family, aiming at integration into a family environment and the provision of care appropriate to their needs and well-being and the education necessary for integral development.

Who can be a foster family:

a natural person;

Two people married to each other or living in a de facto union

Two or more persons who are related by family ties and who live in community of table and dwelling.
