What protection measures can be applied by the Commissions?
The Protection Committees may apply the following promotion and protection measures:
- Parental support;
- Support with another family member;
- trust the person of good repute;
- support for independent living;
- Family care;
- Residential reception.
Promotion and protection measures are carried out in the natural environment (the first four) or under placement (the first two), depending on their nature. The confidence measure of the person selected for adoption, the host family or the institution with a view to adoption cannot be applied by the CPCJ. When the child concludes that it is necessary to refer the child for adoption, the process of promotion and protection is referred to the Court.
Who can apply? Any person who is aware of situations that endanger the safety, health, training, education or development of the child and young person, may communicate them to entities with competence in matters of childhood or youth, police entities, protection committees or judicial authorities.
When can I apply? The restricted committee operates on a permanent basis. You can use the various means of communication (classic mail, e-mail, telephone, fax and in personal and direct service.
